Hey everyone,
I had a pretty rough week this week.
I felt really sick for a few days, and then just as I was recovering, I got hit with some kind of gut bloating thing.
I’m not really sure what it is, but I think it’s maybe some kind of food intolerance (if anyone has any tips for gut health then please let me know!).
When I feel really unwell, I often feel a sense of despair and lose the ability to think clearly.
Self-pity creeps in, and I often think of this idea:
“The healthy person has a thousand wishes, the sick person only one”
But today I’m feeling better.
The biggest thing I missed this week, was a sense of progress. Making progress towards my goals. Day by day, bit by bit.
About 6 months ago, I became obsessed with this question of “what are the habits that if I did every day, would take me where I wanted to go?”
I’ve experimented with a few different things over the months. I wanted them to be flexible and to be able to do them wherever I was. Eventually, I landed on these:
Write 500 words a day (work).
10 minutes of stretching, running or working out (health).
Plan or communicate with someone I love (relationships).
5 minutes of reading or listening to something (learning).
This week they went out the window slightly, and I realised how much I missed them.
But now I feel a bit better, one of the things I’m most grateful for is being able to get back on the slow, consistent train of progress.
I find these simple habits to be extremely grounding in this phase of my life. They’re helping me build a future that I want. I’m sure they’ll evolve over the coming years, or disappear, but for now they’re serving me very well.
Let me know if you have any daily habits that you swear by :)
Have an epic week!

For me it has been reading a few pages everyday. On good days, it is another good thing that I did for myself and on bad days, it is the good thing that I did for myself.
