Today wraps up my first official week as an entrepreneur.
I’m loving it. Here’s a selfie from my first day.
I need to stop making this silly face in selfies. I look scared (maybe I am).
I’ve also entered a scarf era. I walk around WeWork dressed totally normal, except I’m wearing this scarf. I’ve never worn scarves, I thought they looked a bit stupid, especially indoors. But for some reason, I keep wearing this one.
3 years ago, when I quit my first job into a dark, swirling abyss of uncertainty, things felt totally different.
I knew what I was running away from - a corporate consulting job. But I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for, I just felt confident something would happen.
And it did. Somehow, I landed a dream job.
But this time I feel totally different.
I’m not so naive to think I know exactly what I’m doing. I definitely don’t know how things will unfold. But I’ve faced these monsters before.
Uncertainty. Doubt. Failure. Ridicule.
So much so, that I really don’t think about them anymore. I can just get on and do the work I need to do. It’s extremely freeing.
That brings me to my number 1 productivity hack right now. Surprisingly, I didn’t learn it from my former employer.
It actually came from another productivity guru, Brendon Burchard.
A few months ago, I was watching his YouTube video called “How to Crush Your 3 Year Goals in 6 Months” (unsurprisingly, my feed is filled with this stuff) and he said this:
“Done by one. How do you get three years done in six months? Whatever moves the needle, get get it done by one. I'm telling you, there's very few industries that you can't absolutely win by 1 p.m.”
There’s many variations of this (which I’ve also tried).
Eat that frog. The daily highlight. Win the day. 1 big thing.
But I’ve never heard of one just for the morning.
Done By One forces some urgency on you “damn, I’ve got to get going, I have to get this done by lunch!”
You can’t shirk away until the afternoon, you’ve got to get moving.
Its’s subtle difference, but it’s been working wonders for me. And at the end of each day, I write down the 1 thing I need to do by lunch tomorrow. This way I can start working on it immediately in the morning.
I found it super effective while I still had a job, but it’s easier now that I have control over my own schedule.
Either way, maybe one for you to test out.
Have an epic week!

P.s.
Brendon is a personal development hero. I’ve learned a lot from him.
I highly recommend checking out the video I mentioned or any others that he has.
Thanks for reading The Sunday Night Review!
Wonderful
"there's very few industries that you can't absolutely win by 1 p.m.” haven't heard this one before - I love this!
